Categories and Privileges

For the Year 2009, all ACS Members are entitled to complimentary online subscription to The Ocular Surface Journal.

Regular ACS Membership
Regular ACS Membership is open to ophthalmologists who have completed a formal clinical fellowship in corneal and external eye disease (in a programme approved by the Council) or have a minimum of five (5) years practical experience in the corneal subspecialty and related fields.

Regular ACS Members shall enjoy the following privilege:

(i)
Advocacy for corneal subspecialty and its related field generally leading to invitations to speak at scientific meetings, symposia and conferences.
(ii)
Opportunities for collaborative research projects and access to research information.
(iii)
Privilege to patient cross-referral and follow-up care network.
(iv)
Priority to education and training expertise.
(v)
A rebate of an amount equivalent to the subscription fees paid by a Regular ACS member provided the member attends one ACS Scientific Meeting held during the membership period.
(vi)
Possible reduced registration fees at other regional ophthalmic meetings.
(vii)
Free subscription to the ACS newsletters and any subsequent ACS publications.
(viii)
Access to 'Members Only' area on the ACS Website with personalized password and access code.
(ix)
Membership Certificate upon approval by ACS Board of Officers.

 

Associate ACS Membership
Associate ACS Membership is open to all certified ophthalmologists, physicians, paramedical professionals and scientists (PhD) involved in the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences.

Associate ACS Members shall enjoy the following privileges:

(i)
Opportunities for collaborative research projects and access to research information.
(ii)
Privilege to patient cross-referral and follow-up care network, where applicable.
(iii)
A rebate of an amount equivalent to the subscription fees paid by an Associate ACS member provided the member attends one ACS Scientific Meeting held during the membership period.
(iv)
Possible reduced registration fees at other regional ophthalmic meetings
(v)
Free subscription to the ACS publications and any subsequent ACS publications.
(vi)
Access to 'Members Only' area on the ACS Website with personalized password and access word.

 

Members-In-Training Membership
Members-In-Training membership is open to all ophthalmologists in training.

Members-In-Training shall enjoy the following privileges:

(i)
Opportunities for collaborative research projects and access to research information.
(ii)
Privilege to patient cross-referral and follow-up care network.
(iii)
A rebate of an amount equivalent to the subscription fees paid by an ACS Member-in-Training provided the member attends one ACS Scientific Meeting held during the membership period.
(iv)
Possible reduced registration fees at other regional ophthalmic meetings.
(v)
Free subscription to the ACS publications and any subsequent ACS publications.
(vi)
Access to 'Members Only' area on the ACS Website with personalized password and access word.
